One criticism of Michael Carrick is his lack of intensity. He's too calm, too passive.

Even Ole Gunnar Solskjær had a ruthless edge.

Here he is telling Jesse Lingard if he gives the ball away one more time he's off. 3 minutes later he subbed him.

WOW.

Anyone who saw Germany’s training session on Tuesday will know just how intense it was.

Jürgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders reunited, and the energy was absolutely relentless.

Once the activation phase finished, both coaches were completely hands on, driving the session and demanding more from every action.

Klopp was not messing about with his messaging.

Fast attacking football.

PRESS. PRESS. PRESS.

Then GO. GO. GO.

Win it back and attack the goal immediately.

Direct. Aggressive. Relentless.

No possession without purpose with Klopp!

Very easy to see why he is held in such high regard by Liverpool fans.

Maybe carrick needs more time to sort the final third issues

5 rondos every coach should run 👇

1. 3v1: support angles
2. 5v2: split the pair
3. 4v2+1: find the pivot
4. Guardiola's 4v4+3
5. Counter-press: win it back in 5s

Which one do you use most?

Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona goes far beyond structure. Their main feature is spatial capacity and the interconnection between players.🧠🎥

▫️Triangulations
▫️Players inside
▫️Rotations
▫️Switches of play

Barcelona started the season at full throttle, largely due to the synergy between players and their ability to combine.🔴🔵

🚨Ralf Rangnick on how a manager affects Manchester United:

“Any coach who goes to Manchester United should understand one thing — it’s a risk. You can have the best tactics in the world, but if you don’t have the players who fit your system, your ideas simply won’t work.

People called José Mourinho a mad man when he said finishing 2nd in the Premier League and winning the Europa League was one of his greatest achievements at Manchester United. Think about that for a moment… this is a man who had already won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan.

Back then, I looked at Manchester United and thought, ‘This can still be fixed.’ You had Bruno Fernandes in his prime and several players who could still be developed. Add the right players, make a few changes and the club could be back.

But now? The situation is completely different.

Too many players are outdated, and you’re expecting a manager who has only recently started his coaching career to fix everything.

Honestly, I don’t think that’s possible.

The fans need to prepare themselves. Don’t blame only the players. Don’t blame only the coach. Sometimes the problem is much deeper than that.”

The Individual Habits of the Player.

At young ages, clubs need to make sure their methodology periodizes concepts in a way that builds habits in players.

Periodizing Concepts, Behaviors, and Principles over time is key to the individual development of each player.

Devil

Watch this kick off routine from Cesc Fabregas at Como.

At a time when so many teams are simply sending the ball long, out of play or straight into the air from kick off, it is refreshing to see a more creative approach.

🧠💡 Cesc Fábregas completed his UEFA A Licence with the PFA back in 2023.

This is the start of his coaching journey with the Arsenal youth team. The insight levels are off the charts.
