• At the same time, Al-Nassr was blocked from signing Saud Abdulhamid a player from Al-Hilal.

AMORIM A FRAUD?

that's a lazy argument!

People need to start giving AMORIM his credit.

He inherited a dressing room built on entitlement:
Garnacho, Rashford, Højlund, Antony, talent, yes, but culture-wise? Broken.

Amorim came in and 'killed player power'.
No one was guaranteed minutes if they didn't perform. Wearing the shirt became a "privilege", not a right. Discipline returned.

He laid the foundation we’re seeing now.

That Mbeumo quote says everything:

> So when Carrick arrived, the habits were already there. That’s impact.

Carrick deserves praise, but let’s stop pretending he “fixed everything in 3 days.”
That work started before him.

Amorim wanted more signings to increase depth and quality, not luxury players. The board stopped backing him. Wilcox calls him “a manager at heart” yet limits his authority. That contradiction killed momentum.

What we’re seeing now?

Reasons why most of us believed Amorim’s system was going to work

•He made us play the most beautiful football we’ve seen since the Ferguson era.

•He made an average squad look like a proper, well coached team that actually knew what it was doing.

•We pressed teams aggressively and consistently dominating possession, shots, set pieces, and xG, something we hadn’t done in years.

•Big teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal were no longer beating us by 4-5+ goals.

•He took us to Anfield and won a place we hadn’t won at in over nine years.

•He had followed the club for years and understood that there was a deep rooted rot within it.

His experience as a coach and analyst means he can quickly diagnose tactical issues, communicate ideas clearly, and make decisive short-term adjustments without needing a long bedding-in period. Crucially, as an interim appointment, Neville’s authority, credibility, and emotional investment in the club could stabilise the dressing room, refocus the squad, and buy the club time to make a well-considered long-term managerial decision.
