Libya. Country 122/197🇱🇾
A land of ancient Roman ruins, vast desert landscapes yet a place that so few travellers get to experience.
The Gaddafi hangover still echoes around the country – Libya is redefining itself after the fall of one of the most controversial leaders of modern times. As always with these chapters of history, you won’t always meet a local with the same opinion.
This trip wasn’t just about untouched history and adventure travel; for me, it was also about reconnecting with legends I first met in Baghdad years ago. Another fun and action-packed journey with @onestep4ward Tours and I’m thoroughly looking forward to the next one.
📍 Trip Highlights:
🏛 Leptis Magna – Easily one of the most phenomenal Roman sites I’ve ever seen. This ancient city, once ruled by Emperor Septimius Severus, still feels like walking through a living history book. The amphitheatre, the market square, the towering columns… unreal. How is this place not world-famous?!
🏺 Sabratha – Another Roman gem with stunning sea views. Hard to believe we had this UNESCO site almost to ourselves.
🏰 Tripoli & Old Town – From the Marcus Aurelius Arch the (last remaining building built by him) to the maze-like souks, Tripoli oozes character. It’s a city in rebuilding mode—rough around the edges, but full of life.
🏠 Ghadames & Baadiyat Yafran – Desert vibes, ancient mudbrick houses, and a side of Libya you wouldn’t expect at first glance.
🏜️ Saharan Nightlife – Watching local dances and wandering under the stars of the Sahara, eating freshly baked bread cooked the traditional way in the desert—it doesn’t get more off the beaten track than this. #libya #everycountry #everycountryintheworld
English people are generally so indifferent to learning other languages that their minds are blown that Anthony Gordon would try and connect with his new fanbase by having a crack at speaking their language to endear himself to them upon arrival.
@basedandbougie As much as I hate myself to admit my occasional toxic trait of watching PM now and then, you were bullied by him but you stood up for yourself well.
Uncensored: my arse. He’s the antithesis of that word. Utter fraud who only cares about clicks and being a shock jock.
.@Uber provides a better service than taxis.
@monzo & @Revolut provide better services than @BarclaysUK & @NatWest_Help
The old boys got lazy, are antiquated & have gotten away with substandard service for years.
They deserve their impending future as antiques of society.
Running has taught me that if you run hundreds of miles, train 5 days a week, and stay consistent for months, you too can become incredibly mid at running
@ChamberofFit I agree but I live in Thailand and that sun is cruel.
Have to be out the door pretty early so just smash a coffee and get it done. Nice runner’s high with a well-earned breakfast.
I feel lousy lifting fasted though.
@PiersUncensored@piersmorgan I agree the bacon thing was tacky and performative, but really don’t see how it was any different to you eating steak in front of a vegan to be faux edgy instead of having an adult debate: https://t.co/0ZzRZS3IMT
"None of you make me want to change my mind.
"I just think 'what annoying little squits'..."
Piers Morgan to vegan activist Nathan McGovern, before eating a steak in front of him.

@anymanfitness Respect the honesty. Hopefully, this will shift over time, and fitness influencers will follow suit, making it less taboo or lied about.
