TRIGGER ALERT 🚨
Heartbreaking Visuals from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh 💔
2 women buried alive by goons for protesting against the construction of a road on private land
This is beyond inhuman, this is monstrous. Complete collapse of law & order in BJP ruled MP 💔💔
I think this scamster who runs India's largest public health endangering proprietary and traditional Ayurvedic products company must FIRST REVEAL that his company's toothpaste contained cuttlefish bones which he marketed as vegetarian product, his honey contained Chinese made sugar syrup, his Ayurvedic herbal products were full of liver toxic herbs and heavy metal contaminants, his Arishtam formulations contain alcohol and all the advertisement marketing of his herbal products were based on rat, zebrafish and cell studies and none on humans, all of which fooled the public, raking in money for this saffron charlatan and his white-clad minion. Why is the Indian media still interviewing this public fraud and thug whom the Supreme Court took action on? Their opinions do not matter. Shameless.
The alternative medicine Mafia:
In a disturbing turn of events, a supplement maker #Himalaya, has taken legal action against a critic for defamation, @theliverdoc, leading to the removal of an accepted abstract from a reputable scientific publication. This incident, detailed in a recent @RetractionWatch article (https://t.co/fxBj1NSKJk), highlights a growing menace to the integrity of scientific discourse: The alternative medicine industry.
For far too long, the shadowy realm of herbal supplements and alternative therapies has operated with minimal oversight, capitalizing on the public’s trust and desperation for natural health solutions. But beneath the veneer of wellness and holistic health lies a ruthless industry, more concerned with profits than the well-being of its consumers. This latest legal battle underscores the lengths to which these companies will go to silence dissent and protect their financial interests, even at the expense of scientific truth and public safety.
The removal of a critical scientific abstract not only stifles important discourse but also sets a dangerous precedent. It sends a chilling message to researchers and healthcare professionals who dare to question the efficacy and safety of these products: Speak out, and you could face severe consequences. This is not just a battle for one critic or one piece of research; it is a fight for the soul of scientific integrity.
Imagine a real doctor, armed with years of education and a commitment to evidence-based practice, being pursued by an angry mob of self-proclaimed healers clutching handfuls of herbs. This image starkly represents the current clash between rigorous science and the unchecked claims of alternative medicine. As readers, we must stand up for the sanctity of scientific inquiry and demand accountability from an industry that has too long evaded scrutiny.
Share this article and raise your voice against the hijacking of scientific truth by the alternative medicine juggernaut.
The future of healthcare and the protection of vulnerable consumers depend on it.

Someone shared this video with me and asked me for my comments.
If celebrities want to provide health information on supplements to the public and their non-medical followers, the least they should do, is to do it the way she does. Aiswarya Lekshmi is an actress and a doctor (MBBS) from Kerala, who gives general, in-good faith information on both sides about collagen use for "skin health."
She clearly mentions that there is no research to prove her claims and that it is a personal anecdote regarding oral collagen use and skin appearance. She also provides insight into other factors - sleep hygiene, diet and environmental stressors that can impact skin health - this is wholesome discussion. She does not endorse a particular brand and advices people to research brands on their own. She cites her source of anecdotal information as Dermatologists (not chiropractors or wellness frauds). This is a better way to communicate health information.
I would like to add some more points on collagen and skin (because as a liver doctor, many of my patients with skin pigmentation and dry skin ask me about collagen use for them)
Oral collagen has been studied for improving joint symptoms in inflammatory joint disorders and also for "anti-agening," wrinkle-free effects on the skin.
Even though a recent high quality metanalysis (highest level of evidence) demonstrated no evidence that collagen use can make one's skin "look healthier" in the long term (https://t.co/Mude0DgJz8), some metanalysis suggested that short term use of hydrolyzed collagen for 90 days reduced skin wrinkling by improving elasticity and hydration when compared to placebo (https://t.co/WCxfHzK7MA)
The perfect dose and duration and type of collagen - collagen peptides or hydrolyzed collagen that can actually improve skin appearance is still unknown (because studies have used various formulations, different duration and in different types of people).
Some experts mention that for skin health, one should consume collagen types 1 and 3, and for joint inflammation, type 2 collagen, while others mention that type 2 collagen use will suffice for overall benefits on joint and skin. Some formulations have multi-collagen. These are the confusing aspects which makes us understand that we know little about what supplementing oral collagen can really do for us and as rightly mentioned by Dr. Lekshmi, there is no research (https://t.co/F9Ck187BGN) to prove this with conclusiveness.
Most importantly know about your collagen sources. Collagen of all types is available from only bovine source (mostly type 1 and 2, naturally occurring collagen found in the cartilage, bones, and hides of cows) and marine collagen (sourced from fish – typically from the skin of wild-caught cod that are not at risk of being endangered) is mostly type 1 collagen.
THERE IS NO PLANT-SOURCE OF COLLAGEN. So vegans and vegetarians beware before taking that collagen supplement for skin.
But also know this, collagen contains an amino acid called hydroxyproline that is converted into oxalate in your body. Too much oxalate may lead to kidney stones. So collagen use of >/= 10g per day can increase risk of developing kidney stones. Those with history of kidney stones or at risk of kidney stones, please beware of oral collagen use (https://t.co/2OoduYrBH0).
These type of videos from celebrities (like from Dr. Aiswarya Lekshmi) are never absolutely endangering like videos from other celebrities (like Ms. Samantha Ruth) that advices public to avoid medications and inhale nebulized hydrogen peroxide. Maybe celebrities who are health and science-illiterates can ask others who are not before they post absolute public health endangering rubbish on their instagram handles. Fair enough? Hope not "rude tone."
