The Third Angel

The third angel’s message is the most serious warning of all:

“If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark…” [Revelation 14:9].

This is a line in the sand. Here you are given two choices. There is no middle ground and no third option.

What is happening here?

Revelation 13 shows a power forcing people to worship the beast and receive a mark. There is extreme pressure. If you thought Covid was pressure, think again! Covid is nothing in comparison. This time, there are consequences. People are pushed, forced even, to conform.

Now the third angel speaks in direct opposition to that.

One side says:

Receive the mark. Obey the system. Go along, to eat, to pay your bills, to buy what you want and need, to get services.

The other side says:

Do not receive it. Stay faithful to God. Trust Him. This is where you have the faith of Jesus shows up, strong.

These are two completely opposite messages.

What happens if someone receives the mark?

The Bible does not soften it, at all. This is serious business.

“They will drink of the wine of the wrath of God… poured out full strength.”

If you read the Bible, you have seen the wrath of God poured out. With all the examples, you know this is not a light warning.

It means God takes this seriously. Very seriously.

Why is this so serious? Because this is about worship.

1. This is about who you obey?
2. This is about who you give your loyalty to?
3. This is about who you follow when pressure comes?

The mark is not just something outward. The mark represents a choice.

1. The forehead represents belief.
2. The hand represents action.

In other words, just like Covid, people will either believe it, go along with it, or both.

But God is not forcing anyone. He is warning. He sees the end. He knows how it plays out.

The third angel is not trying to scare people for no reason. It is a final call before it is too late.

We must choose carefully, and stand firm. Do not trade truth for safety and do not give in just because it is easier.

At the end of this message, the Bible describes God’s people:

“Here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus” [Revelation 14:12].

That is the contrast. At the end, one group follows the beast. The other follows God.

One group receives the mark. The other remains faithful.

The third angel is saying:

Do not be deceived, do not give in and do not worship what the Bible says not to worship. Worship the way God prescribes. Worship is serious to God.

Stay loyal to God, because in the end, your choice will show who you belong to.

The Bible never mentions a "Pope," the office of the papacy, or any singular bishop in Rome holding supreme spiritual authority over the universal church.

Verses about Peter (like Matt 16:18-19 or John 21:15-17) describe his personal role as an apostle among equals, with no mention of successors, keys being passed to Rome, or one man ruling all believers. Church leadership in Scripture is always plural (elders/overseers) under Christ as the sole head (Eph 1:22, Col 1:18).

The Antichrist is not Jewish. The Antichrist is not Muslim. The Antichrist is not President Trump. The Antichrist is not Obama. The Antichrist is not Nero. The Antichrist is not King Charles.

The Antichrist is the PAPACY!

The Bible lays out the identity of the Antichrist power step by step, beginning in Daniel 2, moving into Daniel 7, then into Paul’s writings, and then expanding fully in Revelation.

In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar is given a dream of a great image made of different metals. Daniel interprets that dream and explains that each section represents a kingdom rising one after another in history. Then in Daniel 7, Daniel is given a vision of the same sequence, only this time the kingdoms are shown as beasts instead of metals. In Bible prophecy, beasts represent kingdoms, and horns represent kings or powers [Daniel 7:17, 23, 24].

What kingdoms are shown? Babylon, Medo Persia, Greece, and Rome. That is the prophetic flow of Daniel, and history confirms it. Daniel then sees Rome divided. The fourth beast is broken up into ten horns, showing the breakup of the Roman Empire into smaller kingdoms. Those divisions arose in Western Europe, not in Israel, and not among the Jews, and not in the Middle East.

Then Daniel sees a little horn come up among those ten. It rises from the Roman Empire, among the divided kingdoms that came out of the Roman Empire. Three horns are uprooted before it, which means that this power rose through political conflict and displacement. The Antichrist power does not come from a Jewish tribe. It comes out of the Roman Empire.

Daniel does not stop there. He gives identifying marks. This little horn speaks great words against the Most High. It persecutes the saints. It thinks to change times and law. It rules for a prophetic time period [Daniel 7:25]. Paul says the same power was already at work in mystery form in his day [2 Thessalonians 2:7], and that was 2000 years ago. Paul also says it would arise in connection with a falling away, sit in the temple of God, and exalt itself in God’s place [2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4].

John says even in his day the antichrist was already forming [1 John 2:18]. Revelation then expands this same power as a blasphemous, persecuting religio political system that receives worship, rules for a prophetic period, and carries the same marks given in Daniel [Revelation 13:1 to 7].

The Antichrist is not the Jews. The prophetic line starts with Babylon, moves through Medo Persia, Greece, pagan Rome [Ran Empire], and then into papal Rome. The little horn does not rise from Judaism. It rises from divided Rome. It is a Western Roman power, a religio political system, not an ethnic people group. Scripture and history do not point to the Jews. They point to the PAPACY or the VATICAN.

I hold myself to a certain standard in moments of conflict, and I expect the same from anyone I share a relationship with. Disagreements are inevitable, but the way we speak to each other in those difficult moments reveals who we truly are. Even in anger, I believe in preserving dignity, composure, and respect. The goal should always be to address the issue at hand, not to wound the person we claim to care about.

When an argument slips into contempt, scolding, or emotional volatility, it stops being a conversation and becomes something corrosive. I will not remain in a relationship where conflict becomes an excuse for cruelty or a loss of self-control. That kind of dynamic undermines trust, safety, and connection.

For me, a healthy relationship is defined not by the absence of conflict, but by the grace and restraint we extend to each other when the stakes are high and emotions run deep.
