After 100+ days, MC still can’t let go of the fact that Valko is gone and believes he will come back one day.

So everyday, she kept texting to his number, sharing about her daily life.

“I’m going to work! I hope you’re having a good day today too, Valko.”
“I had burgers for lunch today, did you eat?”
“Work was tough today, wished I had you to come home to.”

None of the messages were read.

So one weekend, MC decided to get a haircut.
Hair holds memories and she decided that it’s time to let go of some of her memories behind.

Her long locks got traded in for a much shorter one.

After the haircut was done, she took a picture and sent it to Valko.

“I got a haircut today.
Hopefully you like it.
I think… it’s time for me to start anew.
I’ll always miss you, Valko.
I hope one day I can get a reply from you and we can be together again.”

With a heavy heart, she sent the message.
She was willing to wait, but it has become unbearable.

So MC walked out of the salon, still trying to hold back her tears, when a comment stopped her in her tracks.

“I actually love your new haircut, it suits you really well.”

MC looked back immediately, to see Valko leaning against the wall next to the salon’s entrance.

Her brain, breath and heart stopped at that second.
She can’t believe her eyes.
Her vision got blurry.

So Valko came and wiped the tear away from her eye before it could even stained her cheeks.

His warm touch that she has longed for tells her that he is real.
He is finally back.

MC’s shaking hand found their way to Valko’s cheek, as he nuzzled into her hand, took it, and kissed it.

“You’re back.” MC whispered.

Valko looked deeply into her eyes.

“I am back, My Love. How I have longed for this moment.
Sorry it took me longer than expected.”

MC chuckled and cried in joy as she shook her head.

“It’s okay. As long as I have you back. That’s all that matters.”

Valko caresses her cheek and proceed to give her a deep kiss.
One that conveyed their feelings to each other in a way that words can never do.

I miss you.
I longed for you.
I am glad to have you back.
I am yours to hold, forever.

So this is something I actually meant to post about all the way back in July, but obviously so much shit was going on that I never got around to it.

A lot of people were talking about the hashtag #LADSValkoCanceled and asking why they would even include it in the first place.

Based on my personal experience, it’s simply for tracking.

Let’s think about this for a second. We already know from ST how many downloads they were getting when they announced Valko. That’s probably why they were so confident in his release despite the ridiculous uproar going on. Simply put: if Valko wasn’t appealing, there wouldn’t have been so many new downloads.

But the second the company started getting linked to the anti-China narrative (731), harmful domestic reporting started, and state media began stepping in, they had to pull back, for obvious reasons.

Knowing how the APIs work on these platforms (X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), I think they created the hashtag to monitor the outrage, because they KNEW it was going to blow up. And honestly, I think it’s smart. Data like that shows exactly how big the backlash was, how fast it spread, and when it peaked. That’s the kind of record you’d want if you ever needed to show what really happened.

If a hashtag isn’t being monitored from the start, getting full data on it later ranges from expensive to impossible depending on the platform. Instagram’s API only shows hashtag posts from the last 24 hours, so if nobody was tracking it, that data is basically gone. X does let you pull older numbers, but it costs money, and most tracking tools aren’t set up to do it. By creating their own hashtag, they could start monitoring it from day one.

I guarantee they had third-party programs monitoring the other hashtags too, so #BringValkoBack, #ValkoIsLoved, etc. were probably all added to the list at some point. They probably didn't gather the first bits of it's use though.

Not that it would matter because those hashtags were used and are still being used so often that the data point is obviously massive.

But #LADSValkoCanceled was their starting point, something they could use to get raw data from the get-go, right from the start.

So I think they are very closely monitoring this and the fact that they’re watching tells me they’re still paying attention, and I believe they’re looking for a way to bring him back.

(And, yes, when it comes to THOSE hashtags, they can see how it doesn't "feel the same" as the organic ones, too, if they are monitoring it as well. :P )
