Sasha Trusova and even Hana Bath, they have very impressive and powerful jumps… Sasha has amazing quads and Hana has one of the best 3A in juniors.
I wanna see Mao compete against Hana in seniors soon. It'll be so exciting because Hana improved so much and is still growing too
Mao has come so far… The 4t I saw, she made it look so easy to land. So much more confidence now! Soon it'll be like her 3a that's getting more and more consistent.
And she's still evolving! She's working on her jump height and power, her opponents really inspired her. Awesome!
The scary and exciting part about men's singles is that it's actually quite hard to predict who will win. Sometimes it's more like a stability contest, if anything.
I'm not saying skills don't matter, they still really do. They have a higher technical ceiling than women's. But men tend to be more inconsistent and fall more often. I'm scared for the GP qualifiers!!
Everyone's so strong, there's more consistent skaters but there are also
@zy2z_p@twizzlebiellman@padded_egg We would never blame Dikidzhi for this, it's not his fault. I bet he's a good guy. But we are suspicious of the judging committee and the organizers of the competition… I wish that corruption didn’t play a role. I hope you understand where we come from too.
@zy2z_p@twizzlebiellman@padded_egg I hope he gets higher scores, don't get me wrong! Still rooting for him. It would just be hard with such a high score given so early... Sadly, for reasons that are also very political in nature and Kazakhstan federation being reliant on Russia, it's a natural skepticism.
I admit I type in a vastly more informal way towards my close associates, but it's the internet so I think typing like this is fun~ ♪ I got the idea from Enstars.
Not like it interferes with screen readers, so it's fine…
While I've always known this, I really haven't heard much of pairs skaters switching to singles. It's usually the opposite, from singles to pairs (Aliona) or even ice dance (Rika). It's cool to see Haruna do something like this!
It just dawned on me… Haruna-chan withdrew from Gdansk because she was going to debut as a SENIOR!
Hannah Frank is going to debut too~
In Budapest Trophy.
Just found out that YN Machida is nonbinary and might be the one of the first in singles.
They stood out to me in Trialeti, and I've found their programs unique. Nice cartwheels and triples! I hope they gain more confidence and skill to skate cleanly.
They're also a coach!
Kao's also been struggling but he's showing promise with his stunning regionals performance. He's always been a great skater but with his history, he's also quite the gamble. Only time will tell.
Misha is also quite risky but I feel like I can reliably see him on the podium.
Minkyu seems most reliable, but I can't 100% lock him in because he's only at the beginning of his senior career. He's only finished off podium twice in his international competitions as a junior. I can see him anywhere from 1st-4th place, but figure skating can be unpredictable.
@ruershrimyo It's crazy because can't both Kao and Ilia get recognition simultaneously? It feels like praising skaters of two different federations at once is impossible for these people~
