NAKADAPA NA, LALABAN PA!
Alex Eala represents the best of the Filipino. She represents the best of us…and of what’s in us. Heart, grit and resilience.
This shot is the story of the Filipino people. Nakadapa na, lalaban pa. Ganyan tayo, bagsak na… pero may ibubuga pa! Ang tibay natin!
Alex, we cried with you. Thank you for representing the Philippines on the world stage with class, humility and grace.
What an honor to watch you 🇵🇭
“Maybe for someone like Iga who has won so many slams … or maybe someone like Serena or Venus this achievement may seem small, but for someone who grew up in the Philippines. … for her this is everything.”

On July 4, Pope Leo is making a pastoral visit to Lampedusa, a small island situated closer to Africa than Italy, making it the Southern most entry point to Europe.
Arriving shortly before 9:00 am, Pope Leo's first moments are marked not by speeches, but by silent gestures: a floral tribute at the island's cemetery, accompanied by a migrant family he made a prayer before the Porta d'Europa (Gateway to Europe)—a monument overlooking the sea that has witnessed both hope and heartbreak for migrants—and the blessing of a plaque at Favaloro Pier, dedicating the historic landing site to Pope Francis, whose pontificate linked Lampedusa to the Church's concern for migrants and refugees.
Those who have lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea are victims both of decisions that were made and of decisions that were not made. Indifference to the common good and corruption in their countries of origin; a global economic system that generates poverty and exclusion; fear that fuels prejudice and contempt; the belief that such problems do not concern us; the criminal calculations of those who profit from the suffering of others; the slow and difficult transition from mere emergency management to the development of comprehensive and shared policies. #PastoralVisit #Lampedusa
