Delighted to see my colleague and friend @ProfPaulDunlop present his research on failing concrete in Leinster House.
His research was into the cause of the failure (internal sulfate attack) and into the mental health crisis it has caused.

S.R16 is @NSAI_Standards guidance on how EU standards for concrete aggregates are implemented by Irish concrete producers. Our research found that total sulfur levels from pyrrhotite set in these were breached & caused the defective concrete crisis.

Delighted to see our paper "Lines in the Landscape" published.
Thanks to @MikePeacock86 for organising a great workshop for ditch "experts" a few years ago in Liverpool. They discussions there led to this publication. It highlights the importance of ditches in our landscapes.
I'm thrilled to see this paper out, which I co-led with @DitchOntologist, and featuring input from loads of excellent co-authors. It's our interdisciplinary perspective on ditches; what they do, why they matter, and how we should look after them.

Delighted to have been involved in this research project. The team included the DCU Insight Centre, Botanical Environmental Consultants and https://t.co/YYOElrW82E.
The ML method produces highly accurate habitat maps on grassland, peatlands, saltmarsh and dune systems.
@JonathanCo85007 @MHealyRae@agriculture_ie Or maybe the peat carbon is considered an asset and they get paid interest on keeping the carbon in the ground and more if the peatland is actively sequestering C.
Planting trees on peatlands leads to more GHG emissions then those trees sequester.
30cm of peat stores up to 327 tonnes of carbon per ha.
Forestry = 145 T Ca per Ha.
It does not make sense to plant trees on peatland as a climate change solution.
