Paddleguide helps people find places to kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. Users typically begin their trip by searching for a body of water, so Paddleguide offers a dataset of tens of thousands of lakes, rivers, and streams. Paddleguide turned to MTS to tile the data for optimal performance on their map, and uses incremental updates to keep the data accurate.
“Incremental updates have been a game changer for Paddleguide. Before we were batching updates to our tileset biweekly at best because it was cost and time prohibitive to make more frequent updates. Now we can make updates daily, providing our users the most up-to-date information on lakes, rivers and streams.”
The incremental updates blog post featuring Paddleguide is live. Check it out: https://t.co/ubv5SU9l2I

In 2024, many creators in the Mapbox community turned prompts into visual masterpieces — from intricate data visualizations to immersive 3D worlds. We’ve highlighted some of our favorites in this blog: https://t.co/W6oJaq4vcx
The next challenge is just around the corner! Join us this November for the challenge and show the world what’s possible with maps.
