This is from @skrug 's book Don't Make Me Think.
I've recommended that book to basically everyone I've interacted with over the past 6 months. #UX#DontMakeMeThink
Hey @SW_Help - any chance you can get your act together and provide enough coaches on the trains to Waterloo?
"This train is very busy" doesn't cut it. Every Thursday there's announcements of "no idea why there's only 8 carriages today, there were 12 yesterday".
Engineering folks, my baby was given this frog that lights up in the bath, but it very quickly stopped lighting up.
I want to dissect it with an aim recover it. My primary thought is to slip an art knife between the white disk and the rubber. Any advisories before I proceed?
@VicVijayakumar Sadly, many people are free-riders or believe that their agency in one context allows them to switch off in another.
Iin other words, good engineers can still be bad partners.
Being unable to sleep is actually great because it gives me the chance to think about that time I told Mads Torgersen that I thought C# should have an 'unless' statement (like Perl/Ruby), and now I can cringe myself into oblivion.
@sebwilgosz@RhysSullivan Bonus tip: in the winter months, if you can afford it, have the heating scheduled to come on before you wake up so you're not leaving a warm bed to go into a freezing room.
@sebwilgosz@RhysSullivan There's no alarm sound I can't sleep through.
Tips that help me instead:
Alarms that vibrate (phone, watch, for the hard of hearing)
I actually used a radio program as an alarm because the presenter bothers me enough to wake me up. Fails when he's on holiday tho.
