@roh_schach For example also, my partner (also autistic) isn't a fan of avocado. Not like the OPs bf with tomato, but won't choose to eat it. He had a dish with avocado in and only realised halfway through. Thought "huh, it's okay in this specific instance actually" and finished his meal

@roh_schach I feel like if you find out that an ingredient isn't as bad as you thought in one specific dish, you make a small exception. I hate celery, but if for example I found out that it made a dish better and was a key staple in my favourite soup or smth, I'd reconsider a bit yknow
