@muheediva01 A mix of things, but mostly colorism (dark skin = bad), stereotypes (things they see on tv), and negative experiences (racism goes both ways).
Wish it wasn't the case but older chinese people tend to be more conservative and insulated, and have a bit of a superiority complex.
@PendragonTorgo@fncischen Rice rolls usually don't use plain soy sauce, they use something called uhh, Geet Jyup (idk the jyutping for it). It's a combination of Soy Sauce, sugar, and according to my dad who's a dim sum chef, wochester sauce (this might be restaurant/sifu dependent though)
@li_dawei98 It also helps that the ones that came here during the gold rush were also either the rich business men with, or are smart and dependable since the family could usually only afford to send 1 person, so they're going to send their best.
@li_dawei98 Chinese people (usually Fujianese or Cantonese/Toishanese) are business minded. And to create businesses, they keep in touch with the people in the mainland while adapting to their environment.
Job creation, resource management, information sharing, etc. all require community.
@Mont_Jiang Daumiu!!
What I like is how you're supposed to drink soup before you eat, and the broth kinda helps fill you up a bit so you don't over eat.
