Over 100 4-H members from across the country are gathered in Ottawa this week for the 4-H Canada Citizenship Congress! It was a pleasure to meet with many of them and participate in their Speak Up event where we discussed how the Government of Canada can ensure food security and affordability across the country. On October 21 and 22, Maritime cattle producers Nick Green, Trevor Welch, Victor Oulton and Chris Sears joined CCA staff for meetings with Members of Parliament and Senators to discuss Canadian beef industry priorities.

Did you know that the Atlantic Poultry Inc. hatch 60 million chicks a year? I had a very interesting tour this morning of the API hatchery to learn about the poultry industry and witness some of the 98,000 chicks hatching today! #AgricultureAndRuralMatters
