Maple

The onchain asset manager that activates capital through lending. $25B originated. $4.8B in AUM. $100M in yield back to lenders.

Maple is expanding into the Robinhood ecosystem, with syrupUSDG and syrupUSDC now live on Robinhood Chain.

Steakhouse approved Maple’s syrupUSDG as collateral for the vault used in Robinhood Earn, the first decentralized lending product available within the Robinhood app.

Now live on Ethereum and Robinhood Chain.

That's all from Vegas, folks.

We had productive conversations all week. Stablecoins for moving money still dominated, and putting idle stablecoins to work was starting to come up among early adopters.

Will the rest of the market catch up by Money20/20 2027? We think so.

Views are the speakers'. Any typos are mine.

Agents will need their own way to pay.

Every current step in a payment from KYC to authorization assumes a human in the room, said David Jegen of @fprimecapital. Agents will need know your agent (KYA) checks of their own aligned to user and regulatory policy.

Stripe is already buying the rails, he said: Bridge for stablecoins, Privy for wallets.

[Maple @maplefinance]

The question turned to: Who's liable when an agent gets it wrong?

"This is a consumer first country that we live in, I don't see it falling on the consumer." Kate Walton, @jpmorgan.

Paul Unterberg of Uphold said he does push it to users for now, but chargebacks and returns still have to exist.

First, thank you to everyone who joined Running on SYRUP, our bootcamp workout before the convention on Monday with @syrupsid, and to everyone at the Maple dinner, co-hosted with the great @oost_marcel.

Now, the agents.

[Maple @maplefinance]

Why Maple cares: Agents could pay with programmable money, from a wallet of their own with set limits. Between payments, each wallet holds an idle balance.

Credit can put those idle dollars to work, and that's where yield comes from.

Overheard at @money2020 USA, final installment.

Yesterday: Emerging markets pull stablecoin adoption forward out of need.

Today's question: Can AI agents do the same in domestic markets like the US?

I hit @syrupsid, CEO of @maplefinance, with 4 rapid-fire questions. Some of these takes are WILD.

- $BTC hits $100K before $70K.
- The CLARITY Act stays unsigned through 2028.
- $ETH beats $SOL in digital dollar supply by 2028.

A major US bank collapsing from stablecoin outflows? He isn't sure. A community bank? That's a different story.

One of these predictions could seriously catch people off guard.

Which take are you betting against?

[ALLINCRYPTO @RealAllinCrypto]

Banks can pay as little as 0.1%–0.4% on checking accounts.

Stablecoins could force a brutal choice: pay depositors more or watch their money leave.

Either way, bank profits take a hit.

“Stablecoins are bearish banks.” @syrupsid CEO of @maplefinance

As reported today, emerging markets adopt stablecoins out of need: Unstable currencies, cash-heavy economies, and rails that stop at the border. Once people hold dollars, credit comes next, and it needs a lender that underwrites it, which is Maple's business. Final instalment tomorrow. Hint: It's about the third accelerant... And it's wild.

Overheard at Money20/20, day three.

Yesterday we said stablecoins are likely to take off first in B2B cross-border payments. Today's panels showed where: Emerging markets, which are disproportionately pulling adoption forward, with consumers close behind.

Félix is going further. Manuel said it's moving beyond remittances into credit and store-of-value products built on DeFi, giving users yield and loans without carrying a bank's balance sheet.
