@DonMiami3 Practically speaking, AI has made email retrieval easier for me (like say reduced time to find an email by 50%). It also has shrunk my time to make a powerpoint by 50% and my powerpoints look better now. That's it though...
@CamiloBAcosta "Scientifically correct" lol. It's very easy to find a study supporting either argument. These are social science (i.e not real science) experiments. Employers and investors are free to decide what they want to do but there's no objective science here backing in person
@mikitaposts Didn't you answer your own question? It was theft, it was cringe. And it was a CRIME. If I were her employer, I'd be curious what other illegal things she is doing.
@RJCcapital AI could very well pose an existential threat. In which case, yes, it would if we knew that, make sense to pause AI even if we are on the verge of curing cancer. However, we really have no way of knowing. So for the time being it would be irresponsible to do so
@Bratt_world Definitely a small town thing. Never heard of people doing this. I don’t think it’s a good thing to be honest. Police should not be accepting “bribes” even if it’s “just a coffee”.
@lamebeardstcyr@RobynUrback You clearly make excuses for police. Anything can happen in an urban environment. A bystander walks out of a coffee shop near a firefight. It’s the cops fault. The bystander could have handled things better but the police need to account for civilians doing not ideal things
@business There is certainly some very good value stocks in other areas of the world. I do suspect Europe in particular probably has some bargain stocks for someone who will look. Japan as well but that stock market has been rising lately.
@texasrunnerDFW No it’s an indication that Texas is like 65% Latino. And Mexican migrants are willing to do this work at competitive rates. At least for the time being.
@TorontoStar Not giving employees a warning is ridiculous. This is a rather easy policy to issue a formal warning and then monitor for 2 months if it’s being followed before terminating the employees. I feel they have a strong case.
@lamebeardstcyr@RobynUrback No she wasn’t jumped. What kindof bootlicker are you that you think in an urban environment a cop is justified to not even spend a second to look at what they are firing at? I’d also support training civilians how not to trigger cops sure. But this was the cops fault.
