Safe Charging is a Super Power 🔋 Tip 5
Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail.

⚠️ On scene of a 3 vehicle mvc at the corner of 8 Line and County Rd 12 at Spruce Green. The intersection is blocked, please avoid the area.

Safe Charging is a Super Power 🔋 Tip 4
Unplug your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery.

[Mapleton Fire Rescue @mapletonfireres]

Safe Charging is a Super Power 🔋 Tip 2
Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat.

Safe Charging is a Super Power 🔋 Tip 1!
Use the cord and charger that came with your device or ones approved by the manufacturer. Using the wrong charger can damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Mapleton is a winter wonderland of blowing snow & frigid cold. 🥶 ☃️ Amid all this seasonal sparkle, with snow drifting & blowing, keep exterior vents — furnace, dryer, & gas appliances — clear. Snow can block them fast, & blocked vents can lead to carbon monoxide buildup.
