@Karon25041119 @therecount Other than the fact that she lied about the content of the dissertation (or is too stupid to understand it - if she read any of the original dis and didn'tjust repeat a lie. Which probably reanimated attacks on him.
@BeschlossDC I was working at the Santa Cruz H.S. as a sign language interpreter. I was in the library with my student who had a study period. There was a TV on with the sound off. I was really watching casually, and it was so hard to absorb what was happening.
@HumanityCritic Not Gen X, but I was s sign language interpreter for a H.S. girl. She had study period, we were in the library and there was a TV on the launch on. I had to interpret the commentary for her, while in shock myself
@NeolithicSheep I would check that out further the place was originally established in large part by queer folk and in response to online harassment so I would think there would be protection. It may have to do with the insurance you signed up with?
@fridawrites @drannamvaldez I agree-the best answer is what the person prefers. I think there are 2 threads to "person first." I have feet in both contexts - As an ASL interpreter engaged with Deaf & disability communities, and a nurse/educator where the focus was the person not the *disease*
@drannamvaldez Thanks for sharing both the experience and the impact of others' behaviors. I especially appreciate the reminder that allyship requires action
@fridawrites @drannamvaldez Thank you I was not aware of that shift. Is it specific to certain disabilities or more general. I guess it is also a way to differentiate between an aspect of a person and a disease state
1/ As people flee Twitter, or threaten to, in response to Elon’s takeover and the harassment it has already spawned and likely will bc of less content moderation, there are some things I’ve noticed. Please follow this thread and share it. It’s sorta important…
@JoyceWhiteVance@USPS Just had something picked up, but it took a couple days. If you are talking ballots I wouldn't trust that-we dropped ours off with the city clerk-recorder. Too much hinky stuff going on in Nevada
