Macklemore announces ‘Free Palestine’ tour with artists joining him to be announced soon.

All proceeds will benefit organizations supporting Palestine.

[Victims of Capitalism Memorial Foundation @karaokecomputer]

I think what's commendable and exceedingly rare about Macklemore's statements on Palestine is that he correctly articulates "Free Palestine" as support for Palestinian Resistance. In this follow-up statement he doesn't just say that he stands with Palestinian people - he also (and most importantly) stands for Palestinian people's "fight for their liberation". He also expresses support for the fight for self determination (by any means necessary) in Hind's Hall 2, where he declares: "Long live the Resistance if there's something to resist".

This is what true solidarity looks and sounds like. Anything less coming from those with comparable or larger influence are engaging in miseducation and cowardice.

[Brian Allen @allenanalysis]

BREAKING: EVERY scheduled opening act on Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour has now withdrawn after Macklemore was dropped over his pro-Palestinian remarks.

Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Finneas have all pulled out, while Sheeran’s touring band Beoga has also quit. Each cited solidarity with Macklemore, Palestinians, or opposition to artists being silenced.

Over 170 Jewish entertainment figures have signed an open letter defending Mark Ruffalo after Paramount accused him of fueling “antisemitic tropes.”

Ruffalo spoke out against the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger and said the Ellison family was complicit in the genocide against Palestinians.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s first “Parents’ Night Out” gave New York City parents free childcare for four hours on Aug. 16.

The NYC Parks program offered children ages 6 to 13 dinner and activities while their caregivers got time to themselves.

The NYTimes reported hat some parents went on dates or out to dinner, while others went home to relax, shopped or caught up on laundry.
