The last time I gave a presentation as an undergrad I received a failing grade from my professor. Today I gave my 1st presentation as a PhD student and had the grading professors tell me I was exceptional. Seems small but means a lot considering I never thought I’d make it here.
Started off the weekend with the GTV retreat and ended it by finding out I successfully transfected a stem cell line! Great way to end the first two weeks of my Ph.D at UPenn!
Without Roe v Wade I wouldn’t have my bachelors, I wouldn’t have my masters, and I wouldn’t be alive. Instead of celebrating receiving my diplomas this week I am mourning for those who will now not have access to the higher education I did.
A lab mate asked me if it was silly that they wanted to frame their first publication… guess who thought it was a great idea. Check it out here! https://t.co/YBf8fcvXeo
I said “canonical Monte” the other day because I forgot the word ‘classic’. If that’s not a sign that I need to take a break from writing, I don’t know what is.
I finally got to go to my first conference and I have to say it’s pretty magical seeing people get excited because you have the word CRISPR on your poster.
Not my first poster presentation but definitely the funnest I’ve ever had. Thanks @MBLScience and the directors and faculty on site for giving us an amazing Summer and research experience!
