In view of the forthcoming Mahamagam Festival in 2028, I kindly request you to consider the following proposals:

1. Approve the doubling of the Thanjavur–Villupuram railway line, with special priority given to expediting the Thanjavur–Mayiladuthurai section.

2. Introduce a new train service between Thanjavur and Haridwar/Rishikesh via Kumbakonam and New Delhi. This will greatly support pilgrims by honoring the deep spiritual connectivity between the Kumbh Mela and the Mahamagam Festival

1. Doubling of Thanjavur - Mayiladuthurai railway line before Mahamagam 2028
2. A New line between Needamangalam - Kumbakonam - Vridhachalam

வண்டி எண் 16833/16834 மயிலாடுதுறை-திருச்சி MEMU ரயில் வண்டியில் கூடுதல் பெட்டிகள் இணைக்க @TANDRUA1963  விடுத்த கோரிக்கையை ரயில்வே வாரியம் தென்னக ரயில்வேக்கு தேவையான MEMU பெட்டிகளை ஒதுக்கி ரயில் பெட்டி தொழிற்சாலையில் இருந்து பெட்டிகள் வரப்பெற்றவுடன் பரிசீலிப்பதாக தென்னக ரயில்வே அனுப்பியுள்ள பதில்.

இது தொடர்பாக 16833/34 வண்டிக்கு கூடுதல் பெட்டிகள் இணைக்க ஏதுவாக ரயில் பெட்டிகளை தென்னக ரயில்வேக்கு ஒதுக்கீடு செய்ய ரயில்வே வாரிய முதன்மை செயல் இயக்குனர் (ரயில் பெட்டிகள் ) அவர்களுக்கு TANDRUA  கோரிக்கை விடுத்து கடிதம் அனுப்பியுள்ளது.

Expedite the Doubling process of Thanjavur - Villupuram railway line

Mahamagam 2028 is approaching fast. With an expected 3 CRORE devotees heading to Kumbakonam for the holy dip, a single railway line will simply not survive the rush.

This vital route handles a massive chunk of the division's load: 35 - 40% of total originating passengers & 25 - 30% of total revenue

Passenger volume is skyrocketing:
📉 2022-23: 1.18 Crore
🚀 2025-26: 1.46 Crore

We urgently request @RailMinIndia & @GMSRailway to expedite the doubling project ASAP!!🚉
