@TiffaniMarie483 One trick that I learned a long time ago with my boys was you have to feed pent-up energy. So if your son is getting really good exercise and still can’t sit still then you need to see the doctor because there is more going on & you need assistance in sorting that out.
@YoAdrienne1968 I don’t have the financial means & still do what I can. Life has been a curveball in our family… My oldest diagnosed w/ a childhood cancer at 1 yr old & his little brother has never lived a life without his brother’s health issues. I do what I can for them both.
@Avabelly__ You can get another quote. Honestly, we take these laborers for granted & there aren't enough to go around. They can charge that much when they are in great need - which is what I would guess in your area. It always comes down to time or $$$ - yours v. theirs.
@lisathebeauty1 It’s their property they can do what they want. It’s your rental you can do whatever you want… Your response to an unacceptable rent is to go rent someplace else
@middle_class_us When people ask how families lived on a single income in the 70s… It’s not by buying shampoo & razors that cost more than dinner for the family. Being thrifty wasn’t intentional - it was a way of life. My mother didn’t hesitate to forgo for us kids. It’s all about decisions.
@BowTiedXmas Your state should have a template for you to create and seal the transcript yourself. Home instruction becomes the parent’s responsibility- including providing transcripts.
@Tom_the_Cynic@deaflibertarian There are some deadlines with some jobs. The last one I was hiring - we had to have someone onboarded quickly because of a grant deadline. It isn’t the company‘s fault if a person discovers a job opportunity late & it isn’t anyone’s fault if schedules don’t agree. Just move on.
@deaflibertarian@Tom_the_Cynic Unless you didn’t share all the details, the fact that you accused this company by using the phrase “dodged a bullet” simply because they didn’t have the flexibility to offer you a different time to interview you frames your position
@Tom_the_Cynic@deaflibertarian Maybe you’ve never had to do the interviewing and had a deadline of when you had to draw the line. Especially if you’re working with very firm action plan, grant work often requires this. There’s a point where you have to draw the line & make a decision with the info you have.
@deaflibertarian It’s actually consistent. I wasn’t intending to pick a fight, but commenting about the sad commonality today of the assumption that someone has to be morally right & other people have to be wrong/horrible. This happens all the time…the timing is off. No one is wrong. It’s life.
@JezziiB I have to admit… I’m 57 years old struggling every day in menopause and probably still dealing with long Covid. I’m a far away place from thriving
@Matt_Pinner Right now… Absolutely! I would pay off my debt, set up trusts for my sons, get a place on the ocean, and make investments so that I could reframe the rest of my life.
