The empire doesn't care about religion as theology. It cares about religion as an ideological weapon. When Christianity can manufacture obedience, nationalism and willingness to kill for empire, capital will institutionalize it. Hegseth is tightening that ideological apparatus.
Victor Wembanyama was asked if he would ever sign a deal with a sports betting company: “Absolutely not. Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it.”

🇷🇺☢️ Bloomberg: Russian officials increasingly discuss tactical nuclear use as Ukraine war escalates
➤ People close to the Kremlin told Bloomberg that peace talks are effectively deadlocked and Moscow is preparing for a more dangerous phase of the war, including heavier ballistic-missile strikes on Kyiv and infrastructure across Ukraine.
➤ Russian officials increasingly view Ukrainian deep strikes on refineries and logistics hubs as NATO attacks because Western governments supply weapons and intelligence.
➤ Bloomberg reports that a growing number of officials believe Putin could ultimately use tactical nuclear weapons as a last resort. But it stresses there is no evidence Russia is currently preparing a nuclear strike.
The report comes as CIA Director Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow for talks with intelligence officials.

A trillion-dollar military running short of missiles after six months tells you what the system actually produces: not strategic endurance, but corporate profit. The Pentagon is less a war economy than a machine for transferring public wealth to private capital.
@growing_daniel most electricity is generated using steam generators whether that's heated by coal or nuclear/etc. The increase of use of electricity directly correlates to more water bring brought to steam. This is where the water is being used up by
This is a great and funny clip, speaking in plain language, about Americans’ willful blindness to their own participation in unequal exchange.
“ ‘Ten peaches for a dollar: how DO they DO it?’ You know exactly how they do it. You know precisely how it’s done.”
Rep. Ritchie Torres won New York’s 15th Congressional District Democratic primary on Tuesday with 23,258 votes, or 71.9% of ballots cast, defeating Michael Blake and Jose Vega in a low-turnout contest.
Andre Easton, a Bronx public school teacher and pro-Palestine socialist who is running as an independent in November, said the result “is not a victory resulting from mass support,” noting Torres received just 23,000 votes in a congressional district of roughly 750,000 residents.
Easton also announced he had filed more than 10,000 petition signatures to secure a place on the general election ballot against Torres. He says the “fight… has just begun.”

U.S. sanctions are making survival and recovery difficult, as medicine, foreign revenue, and imports are severely restricted.
The U.S. must lift them now.
🇧🇴 Bolivia Deploys the Military Against a Popular Uprising Over Austerity, With Washington’s Backing
🔸 Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz declared a state of emergency Saturday, ordering the armed forces to break road blockades and crush five weeks of protests demanding he resign, an escalation he framed as restoring “normality.” He signed a law last month allowing the military to intervene in internal conflicts.
🔸 The revolt was triggered by Paz’s austerity program, above all his scrapping of long-standing fuel subsidies, which sent inflation soaring amid the country’s worst economic crisis in decades. It is backed by unions, miners, farmers, and supporters of former leftist President Evo Morales.
🔸 Protesters have besieged the capital, La Paz, with blockades that have choked fuel and food supplies, their main leverage against the government. Authorities report at least 365 arrests and dozens injured in clashes with riot police.
🔸 Washington has thrown its weight firmly behind Paz. Secretary of State Marco Rubio pledged “emergency assistance and logistics” support, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth branded the protests “attempts to overthrow the legitimate government” and warned those “profiting on death and destruction in our hemisphere.”
🔸 Paz, who took office in November on promises to fix fuel shortages while protecting social welfare, had previously called a state of emergency a last resort.
🚨PSL STATEMENT — Two cowards set off an explosive outside the home of Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez at 12:45am on Saturday. We stand with Byron against this act of anti-socialist terrorism!
The explosion, which occurred while Byron's three children slept inside, shattered windows and damaged the facade of the building.
Video evidence shows two men exiting an SUV to place and light what appears to be a large firework on the corner outside his home. Thankfully, no one was injured.
This should be seen for what it is — an act of political terror meant to intimidate an independent socialist.
Without speculating, this attack comes as Byron is fighting the Democratic machine for ballot access. Byron is currently running for Congress in Illinois fourth district as an independent socialist. He is fighting to abolish ICE terror, for average Americans to have access to healthcare and to end the billionaire control of society. There is a long history of political terror against the socialist movement that seeks to extinguish working people's dreams of a better world.
But they will not succeed. Instead of backing down, we will organize harder. Instead of shutting up, we will shout louder.
Instead of submitting to fear, we will build power. The bombs of the past did not stop the labor movement from winning the eight hour day, or the Civil Rights Movement from expanding democracy and they will not stop the socialist movement.
We call on all our comrades, allies, and community members to stand with Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez at this moment!
San Antonio is one of the most economically segregated cities in the United States of America. Y’all think this is a flex when in reality residents are priced out.
