@Ubernerd232 Right but if you get the pirates, A's and Rays actually to spend a 150 million plus each year then it does become more believable that anybody can win.
When you use the Padres as your example, you have lost the argument. They are 300 million in debt, and that isn't sustainable. Once the owners raise the floor to a point where the above-average and below-average players are comfortable, it is over for the union. There will be a cap.
MLBPA interim exec director Bruce Meyer holds up the Padres as the example for all teams: "We want to encourage more San Diego's. San Diego is a small market team that went out, decided to compete, signed a lot of players. Turned around their franchise...they are successful. They've grown attendance, they've grown interest, and we've all seen the explosion of their franchise value."
@WrestlerHauser I agree with your list, but I would remove either Cena or Austin. Because this list starts with Gorgeous George. My grandma and dad used to tell me that people in the late forties and fifties would buy televisions just to watch him.
