@LucyBennet10 @Itaresam6 Gordounston is not a military school. Military school is attended after regular schooling and usually it’s Sandhurst (William attended) or Britannia College (Charles attended).

But “normal” schooling is so new for heirs to throne. George is only the third one to go

@LucyBennet10 @Itaresam6 It was expected Charles would go to Eton, as it was an ancient prestigious school. At the time of Prince Philip, Gordounstoun had been in existence for only a few years. Also the cousins of the late Queen Princes Edward, Michael, William and Richard all went to Eton.

JC spoke French as his first language, his grandma spoke Spanish to her grandchildren and spoke English to her children. Sofía’s was born a Greek princess, her first language is Greek not German

Il s’avère simplement que pour des raisons historiques, c’est une seule et même personne qui porte les différentes couronnes. Si le Royaume-Uni abolissait la monarchie, celles du Canada et de l’Australie ne disparaîtraient pas automatiquement.

@eterevsky @autumnpard Peers as equals of royals for marriage is a very British concept. In some European monarchies marrying a subject forced you to renounce your royal status (e.g. 🇩🇰🇸🇪) until the 20th and in most those marriages were seen as morganatic making their offspring non dynastic.

@legalstyleblog Not to be mean but you don’t know Canada because you’d understand how meaningful it is to have an Anglo communicate to us Francos in our native language instead of expecting us all to understand his. So many of our federal politicians cannot say a simple sentence in French.
