As our mission approaches, our team is working diligently on final details. Bringing together all our disciplines and experiences is a journey of its own, demonstrating the impact of powerful collaboration. 🌍
In our collaboration with @TeamFoldscope we are investigating the health of soil, finding life in water, & exploring unique environments to better understand their biodiversity. 🌱 In the Arctic permafrost, we were excited to see what we might find.

What is 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙩?
Permafrost is any type of ground that has been frozen for a minimum of 2 years. It is also found on the Arctic Ocean floor as undersea permafrost!

Svalbard has little soil, no forests, & no agricultural areas. While it’s mostly covered by glaciers, it offers access to study most of earth’s history through its geological formations.

A message from @AstroDuke! She spent 157 days in orbit on the @ISS in 2022/3 where she conducted 2 spacewalks totaling 14hrs 2mins! She is the first Indigenous woman from NASA to go to space. 💫
Thank you for your service & for your encouraging tribute!
