Microscopy twitter! Has anyone had a chance to use CATCHFIRE yet? Looks incredibly promising from the size and reversibility, but I've been burned before buying specialized, expensive reagents.
This Thursday (5/25) @ 9:00 AM EST, I'll be defending my PhD! If you want to learn about how Muc1 can regulate intracellular membrane morphologies and more, all are welcome! The event will be hybrid, so please DM if interested. Some fun highlights that didn't make the talk:
It’s molecular and cell biology group time!! 🍕🍺🔬🧬
Today: Marc Goudge and Misha Kazi from the Paszek lab @CornellEng & @DoerrLab@CornellMicrobio respectively!
Did you think the Paszek group's work on mucin curvature generation at the plasma membrane was interesting? Ever wondered what these transmembrane mucins could be doing on their way to the cell surface? Come find me Dec 5th at #cellbio2022!
Have people had a chance to play around with StayGold yet? The KDEL-tagged version looked pretty promising for SIM based applications regardless of the dimerization, but haven't seen any additional reports of its use yet.
For those who have used the RUSH system - does anyone have any reference as to where to get your hand on lentiviral variants? Or has everyone just been making their own in house if need be?
Steven's great work is now available as a preprint! Just a massive effort by him to detail how glycocalyx thickness acts as a regulator of immune-cell induced cytotoxicity.
