Last note on Eagles kickoff: Per @TruMediaSports, there have been 3,635 kickoff returns since 2024.
4 out of 3,635 (0.11%) have gone 50+ yards in fewer than 8 seconds.
That's how unlikely that outcome was.
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but an almost 42 year old LeBron James is in charge of the entire greater region of Philadelphia’s mental health for the next like 10 months
Couldn't find a reasonably priced nonstop flight out of Philly, so decided to fly out of JFK. At the time, I thought maybe flying out of New York meant it would be one of my first flights for an Eagles game in 15 years that wasn't full of Eagles fans.
I should have known better.
Walking the terminal, I saw Eagles gear. OK, i figured maybe there would be a few Eagles fans.
Should have known better.
Arrived at the gate, and what do you hear? "E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!" The gate agent says over the speakers if you want to see the Eagles play, you need to listen and get your boarding pass out.
Fifteen years into this, no matter the city (or continent), it's a constant.
(One person who didn't know better: A nice British woman sitting next to me asking what they're saying and why they're screaming. Where do I start?)
The Cubs and Padres game won’t end until around 1 am ET. Essentially the Braves and Phillies will have to go to bed not knowing whether to play a day game or night game. This is just terrible.
Not sure I've seen Kyle Schwarber show this much emotion on the field since the ejection on the Angel Hernandez called strike back in ... 2022?

“I'm pleased and happy to repeat the news that the Phillies magic number is, in fact, down to just two. But as you can see it's a beautiful day, Red October is right around the corner, and we all remember what happened in 2022.”
