Our latest ECGI Conversation is with Prof. @AnetePajuste (@handels_sse ), who in her recent co-authored paper, “Voice Through Divestment”, analyses novel Twitter data sets relating to the fossil free divestment movement and examines signals about political change relating to climate.
On the concept of narrative economics, she says,
“In our case, we showed that these divestment pledges and the related fossil free divestment campaign is a narrative influencing investing behaviour, so these pledges represent an expression of disapproval, reinforced by a tangible action, which is divestment.”
