Inanunsyo ni DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla ang pag-aresto kay dismissed police officer Rafael Dumlao, ang matagal nang itinuturong utak sa kidnapping at brutal na pagpatay sa South Korean businessman na si Jee Ick-joo noong 2016.
Pero higit pa sa isang arrest story ito.

Isa rin itong paalala kung paano nagbabago ang mga naratibo kapag may kailangang protektahan o may kailangang wasakin.
Si Dumlao ay isa sa mga unang drug war cops ni Duterte. Noong Enero 2017, si Duterte mismo ang nagturo sa kanya bilang mastermind ng Jee Ick-joo case. Nagbigay pa siya ng 24-hour ultimatum para sumuko ito at nag-alok pa ng reward para sa kanyang pagkakaaresto.

Case closed? Hindi.

Noong Agosto 2017, naghain si then-PDEA official Eduardo Acierto at ang kanyang team ng isang confidential intelligence report na nag-uugnay umano kina Michael Yang alias "Dragon" at Allan Lim sa malawakang shabu operations, smuggling activities, at Chinese drug syndicates sa Mindanao. Ayon kay Acierto, isinumite niya ito upang balaan mismo si Duterte.

Pagdating ng 2019, biglang nag-iba ang kuwento.

Sa halip na si Dumlao, si Acierto naman ang isinangkot ni Duterte sa Jee Ick-joo kidnapping at murder case.
