@geraintwales@WalesOnline 70 yrs, multiple millions of pounds and hundreds of thousands of withered lives and we now see the final dregs of the bad decisions made for political purposes in the last shop on a site who's fate was sealed by Bessemer's invention. You can't beat the market with politics.
@geraintwales@WalesOnline The ore that was used in the early part of Ebbw Vale's industry was " Black Band" ore, found within coal measures. Black band has too much phosphorous to be used in steel . By the time the plant was rebuilt in 1948 ( A gift to Nye ?) it was already in the wrong place.
@iainjones1@CapTransCardiff@WalesOnline If you understood the "Hockey stick " theory of emmisions then it woudn't be worth explaining it to you. It's not worth explaining it to you, because you have already picked your position.
@geraintwales@WalesOnline Steel, requires, iron ore, coke, limestone , and scrap steel, all bulk materials , all cheaper shipped by sea, not to the head of a valley. The steelworks were redundant in Ebbw Vale before they were built, they didn't double down they cubed down .
@iainjones1@CapTransCardiff@WalesOnline Are you as interested in how many passengers go from Newport to Ebbw Vale, or is your interest only driven by cycle envy?
@iainjones1@WalesOnline You are right, again, you can whinge where you want, it just depends on whether you want your whinges to be acted on, or laughed at. It seems odd that the one who admits to whinging, calls others a "snowflake".
@iainjones1@WalesOnline You are right, it's not Cardiff! And because it's not Cardiff, Cardiff City Council can't sort it out, you need to whinge somewhere else.
