Really proud of this piece that sees me at my most galaxy-brained, investigating what it means for documentaries to increasingly use footage captured by its subjects, and whether that's a shortcut to the kind of intimacy that's been the ambition of verité. https://t.co/kDWs77JhyK
Wrote about how the Harper and Yasmin dynamic became so central to Industry, complete with interviews with Myha'la and Marisa Abela, and creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay https://t.co/fmc4eTinVO
@marcus_jones I had that exact issue at a screening of that Dark Phoenix movie. It was this big final fight sequence on a train, the alarm got louder and no one noticed until the lights went up
A credit to how wild I Love Boosters is: it took the crowd 5+ minutes at my screening last night to realize the emergency alarm blaring over the climax was not a filmmaking choice, and we needed to evacuate AMC The Grove immediately.
@BootsRiley It's only happened to me one other time, at the same theater, but the silver lining is that it's hooked me into needing to see your film a second time ASAP.
As someone who cites VENENO as one of the best TV shows of the last decade, I’m not at all shocked about the rave reviews pouring in for LA BOLA NEGRA. That being said, I’m still tickled about the possibility of former Drag Race judges winning the Palme d’Or. Long Live Los Javis!
