📌 I strongly believe that power exchange should exist only between mature adults who are capable of clear communication and informed consent.

Unfortunately, the BDSM community often tries to place all responsibility for the psychological effects of a dynamic on the Dominant, usually hiding behind the famous Marvel quote: “With great power comes great responsibility.”

I don’t think that principle applies here.

Either the submissive is a mature, consenting adult who is responsible for his own decision to submit - or it cannot be called BDSM at all. If he is incapable of informed consent, then it is simply abuse disguised as BDSM.

There is no way around it. Personal responsibility on BOTH sides is what makes power exchange possible in the first place.

You cannot surrender power you never possessed.

If you have no agency, there is nothing to surrender.
