@brookstweetz I don’t think it was necessarily a bad performance, I just think her style of acting (and the writing for the character) just doesn’t mesh well with the show
@aodanhill The massive reduction in food prices is obviously a massive societal achievement, but we shouldn’t forget that the price has basically been entirely made up for in housing costs entirely due to greed. It’s astonishing people aren’t more outraged
@aodanhill 19th century people spent around 30% of their income on food and 15% on housing. In modern Scotland, the average is 26% on housing and 9% on food. When looking at low earners, or in places with high rent, some people end up spending upwards of 60% of income on housing.
@maidenfawn@shocialism Interesting fact! In Irish/Gaelic Mac/Mc are actually a patronymic- I.E. MacDonald is equivalent to ‘Donaldson’. A female version, Nic was also used historically which is cool imo
@MaceAhWindu I’ve been yammering at people in the dev server about adapting merchant mechanics to help represent stuff like Corlys’ voyages. Ultimately though we gotta wait to see how the systems actually work before we know how we’ll be using em
@UtkuTheBee@nonstopbrocock Can confirm that they are! The Ninepenny Kings was a super fun bookmark to work on. We added in a lot of semi-canon stuff that George wrote about Maelys in stuff that was cut from Dance.
@thhouseofblack I envision that in Volantis/Lys you still have a lot of that post-doom Byzantine vibe for the attire. I imagine the fashion in Myr carrying some Rhoynar vibes as well.
@FantasyHavenYT Horrendous take, apologies. Song about the struggles of the working class as the send off for a series about the struggles of the working class is obvious gold
