@radigancarter@michaeljmcnair I think international crime has been using versions of this tech for quite a while now, maybe it’s just becoming more ubiquitous with lower costs/better tech.
@rossiadam Great insights. I wonder if Trump is attempting a brute force move via tariffs for US on-shore manufacturing or if he is more focused on reseting the global monetary system to address our debt issues.
@AdamLowisz@elonmusk Thanks for noting that there are multiple complexities and challenges. Agreed that echo chambers are one of the ingredients creating negative impact for both sides. Helping people share ownership for societal problems is an important step forward in true change.
@LynAldenContact Gaining some use power over the algo would be sweet. But once any platform starts to be powerful, it’s likely to slowly graduate into serving the owner more than serving the community.
@LynAldenContact Good reflections. We built a small movement in Southeast Asia around LYE “Love Your Enemy” I’ve seen a lot of people who live it, including tribal leaders, soldiers and police. How powerful lived truth is to change communities. Love and truth must come as a package.
@elonmusk@realDonaldTrump Jonathan’s love and lay down their lives for the young King David’s (the emerging next gen leaders). Hope you all have the humility to go the journey.
@adamtaggart@Entertained_1@mccarthymark In unique cases yes, like death of parent or if they live in our country, create a good citizen vetting process. Citizenship for their kids (2nd gen) and for them 30 years in, if good track record.
@adamtaggart@GoldenBearGuy A lot of cultures don’t understand the concept of lines and if your family was in dire straights, you would ignore laws to give your family a fighting chance. We have no obligation to constantly open our borders wide but there is a moral one to look beyond our own comfort.
@adamtaggart@RedbudHunt@MishGEA 3 of my kids were born in Thailand, by law they should be citizens but by policy it’s very difficult to pull that off as a non citizen
Foreigners who are productive and improve their US communities should have opportunity for citizenship. Cost of acquisition creates value.
@texasrunnerDFW@lukeburgis@Airbnb I’ve stayed in a lot of airbnb’s over the years and never had a problem. Plus I airbnb several places and it’s a mixed bag whether people fess up to damage or not. Often, the owner has to let damages go or get damaging reviews.
@TheColonelsCat@blaiseforet Maybe someday we’ll have a real conversation, then you can decide. I’d be interested to hear what you think a “church goer” needs to understand about perpetrators - what they typically miss. I’ve got 30 years capacitating indigenous practitioners who serve high risk children.
@TheColonelsCat@blaiseforet The challenge of SM convos: is it possible I have fought for, and helped protect thousands of neglected and abused children? What if I actually understand something about perpetrators from my work? We blame the individual, and aren’t willing to take ownership as a society.
