@fmspear And in many prisons. A large group of population are in the high risk older group. Needing extra care. Including end of life care. Something slot of prisons area only really just get a handle on.
@JeremyVineOn5 @CodyALachey Of course they should. Hope and value are keys. They will be released at some point. They should feel they have a part to play.
@John_Podmore@ToniWood3@hmpps Are prison system should not be used as a dumping ground. It needs to be used correctly. And wisely. In a humanitarian and effective. Why don't we get this.
@PeterStefanovi2@Andrew_S_Hatton You should make sure Johnson. That your communication ministers understand not to cross the press. Media can giveth and it can taketh away. You know it very well. As a ex editor.
And so it begins...Journalists have walked out of a Downing Street briefing on Boris Johnson’s Brexit plans after the prime minister’s director of communications tried to restrict it to selected publications and broadcasters https://t.co/xILjdzffbr
Not condoning the attack or attacker. But simply asking if, as this story unfolds and more is known, this incident will create reverberations right across the criminal justice system?

Obvs, new equipment must be:
● Plugged in, switched on
● Actually used
● Used on everyone
● Arriving and departing
● And we do mean everyone, including No 1 Gov (be willing to model the new way of working), staff all grades, volunteers, tradesmen, canteen delivery
@bramwell_ashley Or put it another way. By reducing reoffending we provent future victims. Can't be against something that is reduces further victims of crime by 39% can we?
@bramwell_ashley Not everyone in prison is a murderer. And we want to reduce the chance of reoffending. Don't we? After all they will be released at some point. What kind of person do we want. Agery and cut off. Or one with a stake in society. To be against something that helps. Is insane.
Life is simple when it's black and white. Those who maintain family connections. Less like to reoffend by 39%. So we are against something that reduces reoffending.
@MicsIrwin Absolutely. We try. Where the rest society. Just washes their hand of these people. No garentee. But we try to guide and point people to a new path. Only that person can rehabilitate themselves.
