When I heard about 7-year-old Breon Allen, I was heartbroken—and then I got angry. This little boy was gunned down by thugs in a drive-by because they were trying to hit an “op.” Breon wasn't in a gang. He wasn’t causing trouble. Where are the t-shirts? Where are the celebrities who rally when it’s politically convenient? Why does Breon's GoFundMe barely have $14,000 while others raise half a million for criminals who resist arrest?

When I saw Breon's picture, I couldn’t even look at it. It crushed me. That sweet boy could’ve been anything—a football star, a leader, a man who made a difference. But his life was cut short because our culture protects thugs and ignores innocent victims.

I told my team—we're going to reach out to his family. We're going to do more than talk. We’re going to act. Because if we don’t stand up for children like Breon, who will?
