The act itself does not move me, but In a world of 8 billion finding the other person who is the same sort of insane to do with with you is terribly romantic
Yesterday, something happened in Kano that I still can’t process.
A young boy who was out picking garbage just to earn a halal living was kidnapped, taken to an uncompleted building, and killed in cold blood. A woman heard his screams and alerted the local vigilantes, but by the time they got there, it was already too late. They found the man washing his hands, trying to leave.
When they asked him what the little boy had done to deserve such evil, he simply replied.Nothing.
Nothing?
That answer has been ringing in my head ever since. That child was just trying to make an honest living. He was someone’s son, someone’s joy, with his whole life ahead of him.
SubhanAllah. My chest is so heavy. At this point, Kano is beginning to scare me. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength and patience to bear this heartbreaking loss. Ameen. 🤲💔
I really dislike the concept of “we experience people differently” because what have I done for you to be horrible to me but kind to the next person?? 😭
That's not true. I bought it yesterday for ₦1,645 in Katsina. And before anyone rewrites history, it used to cost less than ₦500 in Katsina before the Tinubu administration.
Let's be honest in all our activities
I went without hair, waxing, nails, dentist, doctor, coffee, hanging out, taking a vacation or buying an outfit all 2025 and you know how much money I saved? NONE.
The other day i was arguing with someone about how books like 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' are foolish to Nigerians at large.
One of the points i raised was that financial literacy cannot cover for systemic failures.
This is a prime example of the statement: “you cannot out-hustle a bad system.”
Imagine a loan was taken for this.
To young to vote at 18.
Too young to drink at 21.
Too young to sign a lease at 25.
But somehow fully capable of consenting to childbirth at 12?
The law doesn't protect children. it protects patriarchy.
Early monitoring and verification could help prevent fuel from being diverted for criminal or insurgent activities. Vigilance and timely investigation are important for maintaining public safety.
The individuals involved seemed uncomfortable when they noticed I was taking photos. Given the current security challenges in some neighbouring states, I believe it would be prudent for the relevant security agencies to pay attention to unusual large-scale fuel purchases.
I came across what appeared to be a suspicious fuel-loading activity while refuelling at AA Rano on the outskirts of Kano. More than 100 jerrycans, each with a capacity of 50 litres, were being filled and loaded into this white vehicle.
