In memory of Victoria Amelina, @INDEX_Ukraine has launched a new Fellowship programme for nonfiction writers in partnership with @PenUkraine. Victoria believed that literary testimony mattered for the pursuit of justice. So do we.
Stay with us in Lviv for a month to work on your documentation project. You’ll take part in our programme of institutional visits, internal seminars, public-facing events, and meetings with cultural workers and academics who are chronicling the ru war and Ukrainian resistance.
An illustration to the cancelling of ru culture: on the website of the institution whose Ukrainian fellow was killed by a ru missile, the face of a ru writer is next to the Ukrainian flag. Ru lit has a face and a voice, Ukrainian is emptiness where a face and a voice used to be.
I'm in Chernihiv. I was 500m away. (I'm fine.) THIS IS A WAR CRIME. The city was full of people enjoying the sunshine, families strolling on a summer Saturday, some waiting to go to church for a festival. Russia struck the very heart of the city to DELIBERATELY KILL CIVILIANS

@sasha_weirdsley This is precisely why listening to Ukrainian voices matters, otherwise it’s the narrative of our colonizers that dominates.

Hope more people around the world will read Ukrainian literature. Besides sharing our story, we have to learn as well, so I highly recommend the Taiwanese novel The Stolen Bicycle by Wu Ming Yi which was also translated into Ukrainian.
Thanks to brilliant Yu-Hsuan Hsu, who does a lot of work to represent Ukrainian culture in Taiwan and Taiwanese in Ukraine, I had the pleasure of contributing to Taiwanese journal and telling about contemporary UA literature&war. My piece in Chinese: https://t.co/cXy5BLLnH0.
