@RutgersAltRoute A5: Feedback is important. Especially in the world of education. As educators we are always learning and using what we learn and applying it to our classrooms. Taking feedback is a learned opportunity. This can be used as a tool to help students achieve their own growth mindset.
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Sone challenges that I have faced in mindset conscious assessment are the lack of motivation when giving assessments and how I can motivate my students to take assessments more seriously as they are milestones in learning.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: My thoughts on conscious framing consists of how we word what we say to our students and our approach towards communication within the classroom environment. I can fine tune this by establishing professional and ethical enriching environment.
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Teachers can promote a growth mindset by being advocates for the students in their classroom. This consists by being supportive in the learning journey in each student and additionally sparking motivation of what each student is passionate in learning about whatever subject.
@RutgersAltRoute A1: Some challenges that may exists would be lack of motivation. While some opportunities would be helping foster a work ethic in subjects that the student would be interested in.
@RutgersAltRoute A5. This can be done by having more considerations available and taking the time to see how every student learns. This can help identify learning disabilities which could then fast track the process towards accommodations of learning in a school setting.
@RutgersAltRoute A4. This can be done by helping the students understand their disability and reinforce that it’s their right always to get accommodations towards their learning.
@RutgersAltRoute A3. This can be done by having accommodations prepared in case a student requires them. As an ESL teacher, it’s important to always modify lessons to help bring understanding and association when learning especially in learning a new language.
@RutgersAltRoute A2. Some accommodations I have provided for my students are giving them an opportunity to get up and walk and stretch their legs as needed. Frequent breaks and to multi task on assignments. Which helps improve their learning and productivity in class.
@RutgersAltRoute A1 Some challenges that I have encountered when creating an inclusive environment for students with disabilities are the resources available to better support them in their classroom learning and engagement.
@RutgersAltRoute A5: We can strengthen the support by incorporating HIB awareness within the classroom and instruction to help students understand that we are there for them and allow them to have a voice when addressing concerns.
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Understanding HIB and how it affects the social and learning environments of students is essential. It helps identify any risk factors that are harmful to our students that we teach. With that incorporating awareness in our social and emotional learning.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: My school offers services to those that are victims of HIB. By creating a safe space for students to advocate for their own rights if needed. In addition to that, there are different mentoring groups to help develop healthy and positive social skills.
@RutgersAltRoute A2: some of the practices I incorporate within my classroom offer collaboration and an opportunity for my students to establish rapport with each other creating a diverse social and learning environment.
@RutgersAltRoute A1: I establish an open communication environment for my students and establish rapport with them. I will also educate my students on the dangers of bullying.
@RutgersAltRoute A5 A benefit that it has is the convenience of posting assignments, grading and working with students in real time. A challenge would be to have their technology working properly and taking the time getting everyone on the same page when it comes to lesson incorporation.
@RutgersAltRoute A4 I use communication in the form of google classroom. All of my assignments are on there, and I invite guardians to view any progress their child has done throughout the marking periods. This creates an engaging technology environment.
@RutgersAltRoute A3 verbal and written communication, transparency and professionalism. Respecting professional boundaries and working together in our common goal of teaching and teaching effectively. Taking feedback and applying it when necessary.
@RutgersAltRoute A2 some barriers of technology with my students I believe is not being familiar with websites or how to navigate applications on google during assignments.
