@beanisacarrot Untaken sick/holiday time varies from one company to another. The library let it accumulate, but where Bob works it's use it by the end of the year or lose it and they aren't separate from each other. Difference: library pay is low so benefits greater.

@beanisacarrot Sick leave isn't a new thing, but the pressure to not use it I think is. I had so much leftover when I announced retirement that I was told the library couldn't afford to pay me it and I should use it up in the last weeks before I retired.

@librarythingtim Remember the first Star Trek movie? The camera pans over the expanse of V-ger (which was basically a puppet in the tv show version) which I watched on a small tv and still left me gasping. Yeah, we're jaded.
