JUST IN: A palm tree has reportedly prevented a VIP bus carrying about 60 passengers from a more severe crash at Apedwa Junction in the Eastern Region.
According to reports, the tree helped stop the vehicle from crashing further, a situation which could have resulted in a major disaster and possible loss of lives. Passengers are said to have escaped the incident safely.

Accra-Bound VIP Jeoun Bus Crash Leaves Driver, Mate Critically Injured
The driver and mate of an Accra-bound VIP Jeoun bus are in critical condition following a head-on collision with a truck transporting carrots in the early hours of today.
The accident reportedly occurred during the early morning hours, leaving both vehicles severely damaged.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the injured victims to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
Authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the crash, as investigations are currently underway.
Meanwhile, road users have been urged to exercise caution, especially during early morning travel.

Ten people were injured after an STC bus (GS 7045-22), a Volvo truck (GN 4093-21), and a Benz Atego truck (GR 7972-17) collided at Kubease on the Konongo–Kumasi Highway.
The STC bus driver, Isaac Yigah, was trapped but rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service. Investigations are underway.
