@MrToeKneeSee My point exactly. Some of these kids are chasing the money. Not that she won’t get treated well, but getting to play so close to home for the team you dreamed of and with a good chance of a Natty, would be impossible to pass up.
@JoseLoera All of them have a connection to the State of Texas with 3 of them literally being from up the road. My concern is that they are all seniors, and I would think the ability to transfer hours would be an issue. Also unclear whether Torres or Martinez would want to move to 2nd.
@primetimeMitch She left Stanford chasing the bag. What makes anyone think she isn't still chasing a payday? I'm not saying it's wrong to sell her services to the highest bidder. That just may not be in the US as neither of the professional softball leagues can afford to overpay for one player.
@PaigeTexas06 I'm pretty sure Pickens would rather be pitching to Atwood as a catcher than as a batter. Atwood didn't get near the credit she deserved for the role she played in Kavan's success. Disclosure...I'm a former catcher so I really watch the battery interaction.
@BrenleeGonzales@mxg021 The only thing better than watching 42 and 22 dance before the games in OKC was watching UT win. Great job in helping keep everyone loose.
@ascarborough Or, my favorite, hand in one on the lineup card to start game 1 of the championship series and then start a different one. Reminded me of coaching travel ball when an opposing coach did the same thinking I had only prepped my kids for their #1. How did that work out for TT?
@Horns63@TexasSoftball I don’t claim to be an expert but it is pretty low. There are only 6 AUSL teams and the season only lasts June-July. Top players tend to coach or play overseas. If I’m Teague, I stay in college until they run be off.
@Horns63@TexasSoftball Absolutely. While professional softball is growing, it has a long way to go to get to the $$$ level that the WNBA recently obtained. For the vast majority of the players, the only time they will get paid is in college, so I don't fault them for pursuing those opportunities.
@ncaasoftballstf When you have a solid team, the portal can work for you or against you. @TexasSoftball has two catchers coming in & Wallace already there (I don't expect Stewie to switch from 1st base). Those who have waited patiently won't be so patient if they don't see a pathway to starting.
@_dannydavis That game was painfully long. About the 8th inning, I was hoping they would bring in Kavan so she could strike out the side to get it moving.
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
LUBBOCK, TX — To commemorate the Texas Tech softball team losing to the Texas Longhorns in back-to-back seasons, Brett Yormark has declared that this be the new Red Raider logo to be worn all of next athletic season (2026-27) during Big XII and non-conference play.
@CoachVic_UT@TexasSoftball Great to see you there. Told the spouse that the end of softball season means it is time for summer basketball practice to start. Excited to see this new group of players.
@_dannydavis Vivi took it personally & made them pay. I think Glasco outsmarts himself. The travel ball stunt of starting Terry after saying it’d be Canady in game one had me laughing. Not like Texas wasn’t prepared for whomever they put out there. The only one it seemed to mess up was Terry.
@PattieeeRuthhh Thanks for all you have done to make this possible. Cit talking about “PR told me to stay ready” when asked what was said to her when she was taken out of the game had me smiling.
