Thank you, @MargravineCem, for visit to your beautifully maintained urban oasis of flora, birds & wildlife. Good to see grave of Jamaican pre-Raphaelite muse Fanny Eaton, & - poignant at this time of year - memorial to women killed in local munitions factory explosion at end WW1.
Some dog owners who won’t keep their dog on the lead now arguing about the sign which says “by direction” and claim it doesn’t mean them. Yet right there, right next to the first sign, is the direction!
I did two more #BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem this afternoon. Numbers were down from last week except for the 6-spot Burnets in the second count. I also saw a Peacock between the count and a dead Small Copper. In total I saw 122 Butterflies.
I have just done my first 2 2024 #BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem. I counted 46 of 6 of the target species then 74 of 5 species. With others I counted after + Skippers I saw a total of 153 butterflies of 8/9 species (assuming mix of Small and Essex Skippers) @savebutterflies
Women's History Trail Bike Ride
We had a lovely ride around Hammersmith celebrating prominent women who lived or worked in Hammersmith. This ride was organised by @LBHF, part of International Women's Month. Events celebrating the wonderful women of Hammersmith & Fulham.
Alex Kareem would have been 24 today but he was killed by a stray bullet not intended for him. There’s a £20k reward to find the killer. Surely we can do better. https://t.co/zR6lM7M7Nd
