Big Garden Birdwatch done this morning in @MargravineCem and it was a good one with 94 birds of 18 species. I managed to find our wintering Redwings (13) and Song Thrush. Most of the regulars made an appearance. Including the Peregrines (not on the count)

I did my last two #BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem yesterday. 22 for the first and 40 for the second. With a few more afterwards (and species not included in count) I saw 83 butterflies &moths in 45 minutes. Down from last week and last year.
Definitely a Six-spot Burnet year in @MargravineCem and they’re working hard for next year to be the same! I saw 3 pairs mating this evening on one Lavender bush, plus two singles.
I did another two @savebutterflies#BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem.
Numbers were slightly down on last week but I saw a couple of Common Blues at last. 94 butterflies of 7 species in 40 minutes.
I did two more #BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem this afternoon. Numbers were down from last week except for the 6-spot Burnets in the second count. I also saw a Peacock between the count and a dead Small Copper. In total I saw 122 Butterflies.
I have just done my first 2 2024 #BigButterflyCount in @MargravineCem. I counted 46 of 6 of the target species then 74 of 5 species. With others I counted after + Skippers I saw a total of 153 butterflies of 8/9 species (assuming mix of Small and Essex Skippers) @savebutterflies
You can still catch Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir on Sky Arts this w.e., with @nancy_sorrell & @JamesMoir10 and with me and @FaBPeregrines. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part and watching it!
@ThatVetSean I had my first screaming ones with possible mating over home this morning 😊 First local sighting was on Sunday but I couldn’t be sure if they were only passing or local.
This is utterly ridiculous!!! A herd of @limebike parked on an Emergency Fire Path and cycle path in Fulham. Maybe the KEAP CLEAR signs are not big enough? It was already bad earlier this morning but they mushroomed in a few hours! @LimeBikeLondon
@laurencear I saw a Speckled Wood near Earl’s Court while cycling to South Kensington this morning. Took me by surprise as out of habitat, though there was a big square nearby where it probably came from.
Very nice surprise in @MargravineCem during Peregrine Watch tonight: 4 Siskins!!! A once in a few years occurence. So lucky, we managed to watch them for 5 minutes before they flew off, spooked by a Blackbird landing in the same tree…
