@anna_kerf I agree with you, Anna. It seems like this is unfortunately a lot easier said than done. Do you have any ideas on how organizations could go about this? #macrosw
@poliSW A4. I think feedback is critical. You canโt know what you are doing or not doing well if you donโt ask. Plus, there is always room for improvement. #macrosw
@KadenceFeining1 @poliSW Kadence, this is so important! I think we learned this lesson today in our own classes as we discussed different views. #macrosw
@liswier Being authentic is key here! I like how you pointed out the importance of smaller groups to better make sure that everyone can have a voice! #macrosw
@JaclynP19 I love this! This is reaching in and drawing out the strengths prospective! Itโs so important that clients create their own path and then we can walk along side of them. #macrosw
@poliSW A2. I think it starts by simply being a listening ear and then being an encourager. If they feel heard by us, that may empower them to speak out and be heard by others. #macrosw
@KelseyBoyleSW I agree with you, Kelsey! I love that you mentioned our social work values. We all come from different background and can bring experience and expertise to the table!
@poliSW Absolutely! No matter what position and/ or ranking one might be in, it can still be your responsibility to advocate for a change, or at the very least mention something to your supervisor! As social workers, I believe we are called to be advocates no matter what #macrosw
@DonaldRohrman What a great way to put it. You never really know, unless youโve experienced it for yourself. As social workers, ( and human beings) we need to be better listeners and seek out those who have had experienced the problem and learn from them first and foremost. #macroSW
A4 as a community advocator, a social workerโs role is ultimately to help give a voice to the voiceless. If we say we care about our communities, then we need to show our care and support by speaking up about the injustices #macrosw
@Elizabe87201479 I hadnโt thought of connecting this specifically to prison visits or foster care visits. That definitely is a new perspective and one that is important to be aware of. #macrosw
A3 most often when people think of public transportation, it typically involves those who are low income or in poor neighborhoods. Poverty is a huge area of social justice and one that I think lines up with the need for public transportation #macrosw
@UBSSW A1. Yes- believe that it should be a right as people shouldn't have to fear or stress how they might make it from one place to the next. That would certainly only cause more problems I would think #macroSW
