That’s why I’m such a big believer in batch-prepping the foundation: pepper mix, stock, proteins, beans, sauces, then building different meals from them through the week. Good food should not require a 4-hour shift in the kitchen every single time 😂 check out https://t.co/D9lvMsErsH

likely nobody cares but i found a paper reconstructing igbo names from a french slave ship and its so fascinating how little "chi/chukwu" shows up even though "god" is now the root of the majority of igbo names! likely a more modern naming convention than we thought
Roving heights used to take care of us because I still have like 5 bookmarks they gave me years whenever I bought books. They put your books in paper bags too. Now? Shitty customer service, no paper bags or even bookmarks.
They should sha deliver my books 🙄
Scrutinising victims for days to weeks, tearing their character apart, saying they deserve to be abused, looking for reasons to justify our lack of support, tossing them out for acting or loving too foolishly, talking about “taking accountability” for being abused… And while we continue to look for perfect victims who don’t exist, men are rallying in perfect solidarity around a man they don’t even know who is alleged to have drugged and raped a woman.
And yet again we’ll learn nothing.
I did an ideation session with Claude a couple of months ago. A lot of what it suggested was crap; it was recursive, and I picked holes in it until it gave up. I went to Gemini; it brought up suggestions I hadn't even considered, but it didn't go further as it was limited by training data.
It then occurred to me that AI is good for seeing whether others have had similar thought processes in the past and for understanding the boundaries of previous thinking before pushing further.
AI is excellent for research before creative output. Anyone who thinks it creates new things is either severely limited in their experience or very lazy. The human mind is still more powerful than the best AI. The way we make associations over time and space to create new concepts and ideas is unparalleled.
AI is a powerful helper, no doubt, but we must not give up human agency and creativity to laziness and expedience.
What is even more annoying is that, they don’t consider these daily charges as Tax.
Whenever they release the data of taxpayers, they exclude these people and make it seem as though not enough people pay taxes.
which is why I urge you desperately to not submit yourself to the uselessness this country conjures in its people.
it’s harder work and you may burn out.
but it is important that you don’t lose your optimism. your joy is under attack and nobody but you is coming to save you (and maybe a few good friends and family members if you are lucky).
we place so much value on physical things that get stolen. but the things that are unseen tend to be far more valuable that objects that can be touched.
i feel like we haven't dipped how much the APC has taken from us. my MBA cost me $16,000, at the time this was about N2.8m and i paid out of pocket. my school allowed monthly payments, so i was paying about 129k/m on my 375k/m banker salary and i was still living very well.
