bobby's ball just got a little more competitive :)
you can finally compete with your friends, steal their spot, and fight for a crown every week.
oh, and there's a world leaderboard now.

@kyoumalab@kylerblue@wavedash I think it's a bit of both, but I've noticed that most new players don't come back. I'm still trying to figure out why and whether there's something I can improve.
If you ever want to share some feedback or just chat about it, my DMs are open.
That actually makes a lot of sense! I think knowing when to move on is something I’ll have to learn with experience.
I’m currently working on my first game, Bobby’s Ball, it’s a simple browser game.
I’m still enjoying the process and learning a lot.
Thank you for sharing your perspective, I really appreciate it!
I was actually asking in general! I'm pretty new to all of this, and I'm still figuring out how to approach things like promoting a game and knowing when to keep trying or move on.
So I was just curious how other devs make that decision, or if there's something specific that makes them realize it's time to move on.
NEVER GIVE UP!! We started @wavedash as a web-based playtesting solution, utilizing modern browser tech to reduce friction for devs we met who had been working on games for years with no feedback. This is now solved for gamedev. Distribute on web. Insight: POST EARLY AND ITERATE
@kylerblue@portner I didn't know about AFTERS! It's really nice to hear stories like that, especially when you're having doubts about your own project.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with me, it really means a lot! 😁
@buzzybats Good question! The browser doesn't send the score, just the inputs. The server replays the run and calculates the score itself, so you can't just submit a random number.
It's not completely cheat-proof though, and I'm still working on improving it!
