Torre was a popular PNP chief who displayed firmness and professionalism in the Quiboloy manhunt, Rodrigo Duterte's arrest, and even that ridiculous "challenge" from Baste. This will, unsurprisingly, be viewed as yet another case of the admin folding yet again.
House hearing on "fake news" is ongoing on Friday, March 21.
Pro-Duterte vloggers Krizette Chu and MJ Quiambao admit to the tri-committee that they had posted false information online. Chu claimed that there was a looming mass resignation at the PNP and AFP after Duterte's arrest on an ICC warrant, which CIDG chief Nicolas Torre denied. Quiambao claimed that the victims of the drug war were a hoax. They turn emotional during today's proceeding, but Quiambao says it's because she is afraid of a possible contempt citation and detention order from the panel.
