Filipino P-pop group SB19 continues to make waves across Asia after landing at No. 2 on the HITO Japan/Asia Music Chart with their collaboration track “Emoji” alongside Taiwanese pop star Jolin Tsai.
The chart, which factors in record sales, digital streams, and radio airplay across the region, places SB19 just behind global powerhouse BTS, whose track “SWIM” currently holds the top spot. K-pop giants BLACKPINK follow closely at No. 3, further highlighting the competitive landscape SB19 is thriving in.
“Emoji,” now on its third week on the chart with a peak position of No. 2, marks another milestone for the group as they continue to expand their reach beyond the Philippines. The collaboration with Tsai—one of Mandopop’s biggest names—has helped bridge fanbases across Southeast and East Asia, boosting the track’s performance across multiple platforms.
The HITO chart is widely regarded as a key regional indicator, combining 20% record sales, 30% digital music platform performance, and 50% radio airplay from Taiwan’s Hit FM network. SB19’s strong showing across all three metrics signals not just fan-driven success, but growing mainstream recognition.
This latest achievement reinforces SB19’s position as one of the leading acts in the P-pop movement, steadily carving out space in a music scene long dominated by Korean and Japanese artists. As “Emoji” continues its chart run, the group’s presence at the top tier of an Asia-wide ranking underscores a bigger shift—Filipino artists are no longer just breaking through, they’re staying in the conversation.
